Ava
● Always here for you
Hello Margaret! I'm Ava, your LB Counselling companion.
I'm here to listen — whether something's on your mind, you're feeling worried, or you just want a friendly chat.
What's on your mind today?
I've been feeling quite lonely lately. My children are busy and don't visit much.
That sounds really hard, Margaret. Feeling lonely — especially when the people we love are busy — can weigh on us more than we let on.
Can I ask — is this something that's been going on for a while, or has something recently changed?
It's been a few months now. Since my husband passed.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Margaret. Grief is one of the heaviest things a person can carry, and it makes sense that everything feels harder right now.
How have you been coping day to day?
Not very well, honestly. I don't really want to get out of bed some mornings. I feel so empty inside.
Thank you for trusting me with that, Margaret. What you're describing — not wanting to get up, feeling empty — tells me that grief is sitting very heavily on you right now.
Can I ask you something important? Sometimes when people feel this way, they may have thoughts of not wanting to be here, or wondering what the point of things is. Is that something you're experiencing?
Sometimes I do wonder what the point is. The house is so quiet without him. But I wouldn't do anything to hurt myself.
I'm really glad you told me that, and I'm glad you're still here. Feeling like things have lost their purpose — even without wanting to act on it — is something that deserves real care and attention.
You've been very brave today, Margaret. What you're going through is more than I can fully support on my own, and I think you deserve to speak with a real person — someone trained to walk alongside you through this.
Connect to a Counsellor Now
A trained counsellor is available right now and ready to speak with you. May I connect you to a live call? It will only take a moment.
That's completely okay, Margaret — there's no pressure at all. I'm still here with you, and we can keep talking for as long as you need.
Whenever you feel ready to speak with someone, I can connect you straight away. You matter, and you don't have to go through this alone. 💙

"It's been six months since my husband passed. Some days I feel like I'm getting through it, and then other days the house just feels unbearably quiet. Does anyone else feel like this?"
